What Makes Your Website Work or Not Work?

Speaker: Brandon Kirkland

Why do so many people leave your website and not do what you want them to do? When you look at your website, are you thinking in your "shoes" or your target market's "shoes?" To get someone to do what you want them to do online is a science... literally. This science is called Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO). Psychology and other human behavior sciences mixed with trends and marketing allow you to collect big data online, make a hypothesis and then test your idea. Many online businesses are doing it wrong and Brandon helps them be more successful by understanding their online target market. Then, they can make better website decisions to get more sales, leads or whatever action they want their online visitor to take.

This month's speaker, Brandon Kirkland, is the founder and CEO of epicFlowers.com. Brandon started epicFlowers because he wanted to purchase a website for his retail flower shop, but there was nothing out there that met his standards. Brandon’s specializes in conversion rate optimization to make sure epicFlowers' customer sites convert viewers into buyers. Brandon has been web designing since 1994 and was the first florist on Twitter, first to sell on Facebook, and first to show a live design being made/displayed over the Internet. His company was the first to offer mobile friendly websites more than five years ago and was designated the Ashland Retail Business of the Year in 2010.
