Women and Managing Conflict

Speaker: Deltra Ferguson

Understanding our individual strengths (and limitations!) when confronted with conflict is key in building good business relationships. As women in business, there are a few conflict “gender traps” to avoid, and resources to call upon to keep our work spaces peaceful (well, mostly peaceful) and productive. A local resource is the nonprofit Resolve Center for Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice which helps with conflict resolution skills training and services.

Deltra Ferguson is the Executive Director for Resolve Center for Dispute Resolution and Restorative Justice. For eight years prior, Dr. Ferguson served as Coordinator for the Women’s Resource Center of Southern Oregon University, and before that, as faculty with the Women’s Studies Program at Oregon State University, teaching and researching in the areas of theater and women’s studies.  She and her partner of many years share a safe, warm Ashland Oregon home with their teen-aged twins, Riley and Julia and cats, Charley, Milo and Felix.
