Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behaviors–including physical, sexual, and psychological attacks as well as economic coercion–used by one intimate partner against another (adult or adolescent) to gain, maintain, or regain power and control in the relationship. Batterers use a range of tactics to frighten, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, humiliate, blame, often injure, and sometimes kill a current or former intimate partner.

Domestic violence, also known as intimate partner violence, is a serious and widespread problem. In the United States, 1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime and report negative impacts such as injury, fear, concern for safety, and needing services.

A local Rogue Valley organization, Community Works, is dedicated to helping victims of domestic violence. WESO has supported the Community Works - Dunn House Shelter and other programs for decades and you can help, too.

Please donate at Community Works to help local victims find safety and support in their journey of escape and recovery.

The  Womankind Art Exhibition and Activation is on view through October 30th, 2026, at the Rogue Gallery & Art Center, 40 South Bartlett Street, Medford,

It brings together 25 local women artists, nonprofit organizations, women-owned and local businesses, and Jackson County Library Services for a community-based contemporary art project connecting visual art with women's causes, cultural exchange and direct community action.

WESO is participating as the sponsor of self-care item donations to the Community Works - Dunn House Shelter. Help out by bringing the following items to the Gallery during the exhibit: toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, body wash, lotion, and period supplies.

Alzheimer's has hurt so many families, and we must stop it from hurting more. That’s why WESO has joined the fight against Alzheimer’s and all other dementia, and we invite you to join us. 

WESO is participating in the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s on September 19th to raise funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.

The Oregon SBDC Network is excited to welcome Rob Hambleton as the new business adviser serving Jackson County through the Rogue Valley SBDC Outreach Center.

For many business owners across Southern Oregon, Rob is already a familiar face. Over the past two decades, he has worked alongside entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and public agencies as a business owner, consultant, executive coach, and leadership development professional. His passion for helping organizations grow and succeed has earned him a reputation as a trusted adviser throughout the region.

Beginning in August, Rob will provide confidential, no-cost business advising to entrepreneurs and small business owners from the new Jackson County location of the Rogue Valley SBDC Outreach Center at 37 N. Central Ave. in downtown Medford, inside the historic Woolworth Building, home to Rogue Workforce Partnership.

Whether you’re thinking about starting a business, have recently opened your doors, or are looking for new ways to grow an established company, Rob will be available to help.
